Fresh from the USA, Baka Beyond are bringing all the best elements from their live shows over the years to Komedia in Bath. Su Hart is joined on vocals by Molara (Fela Kuti's niece) and original voice of dub dance pioneers Zion Train. Denise Rowe brings her fiery African dance and Paddy Le Mercier his passionate fiddle playing. Ghanaian percussionist, Nii Tagoe provides the rhythm section with Congolese bass player Kibisingo (of Kanda Bongo Man) and stickman Tim Robinson. Martin Cradick's hypnotic guitar, described as sounding like Jerry Garcia after taking a long trip in West Africa, ties the elements together. Films and projections from the Cameroon rainforest add to the spectacle creating a feast for the eyes and ears as well as the heart and feet.
